Robert Redford in Savannah to film "The Conspirator"

Savannah is abuzz with news of Robert Redford filming his new movie “The Conspirator” and his selection of the Hostess City as his location. This won’t be the first time Savannah’s been featured in a Redford film. “The Legend of Bagger Vance” starring Will Smith, Matt Damon and Charlize Theron, was filmed here in the late 1990s.

With all of downtown on the lookout for Mr. Redford, night concierge Jerry Eastridge was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the famed actor leaving the Sorrell-Weed house. Jerry’s friend there told him that a scene is being filmed in the pumpkin-colored house’s spooky basement. Another one of Jerry’s sources spilled the beans that Mr. Redford will make downtown Savannah his home for the next three months and is staying under an assumed name. Redford has also been seen with Savannah’s own Stratton Leopold.

Other movies filmed in Savannah:

Jerry Runs Into Savannah Reality TV Celebrity

This past Sunday, September 19th, while entertaining out-of-town friends in his downtown tiki-torch filled yard, Jerry Eastridge, Night Concierge, heard a strange but familiar voice. Jerry heard a soft “Heeeeyyyyy yaaaa’lll” from about a block away.

Was it Paula Deen, Queen of Southern Cuisine? Too softly spoken. Then he heard “Ruby! Ruby! Ruby!” from a passing car. It was Ruby Gettinger, inspirational weight loss diva, with her own Style Network’s reality television show. http://www.mystyle.com/mystyle/shows/ruby

Jerry ran to get his camera and snapped a few fan photos on his doorstep. The last few times he was not as fortunate and the crowd too large to get individual pictures. Forsyth Park Inn would like to host her Californian friends if they visit Savannah this coming Spring!

(L) to (R) Ruby, Jerry, Georgia (Ruby’s best friend), and Jim (Ruby’s nephew). Also in attendance was Ruby’s ex-boyfriend, Denny.
