Try this Special Spoooooky Cookie Recipe:

Sweet Bones - Meringue Cookies


  • 6 large egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Put egg whites and sugar in the heatproof bowl of an electric mixer. Set bowl over a pan of simmering water; whisk constantly until sugar is dissolved and mixture feels warm to the touch, about 5 minutes.
  2. Return bowl to mixer, and fit mixer with the whisk attachment. Beat on high speed until very stiff peaks form, about 8 minutes.
  3. Transfer meringue to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/2-inch plain round tip, such as a Wilton #1A. Pipe bone shapes, each 5 to 6 inches long, onto two baking sheets lined with parchment paper (as shown below). Bake until crisp throughout, about 1 hour. Let cool completely on a wire rack.

Presented by the Savannah Folk Music Society, the Savannah Folk Music Festival is a popular weekend festival devoted to the enjoyment, preservation and continuation of the living art of folk music. Savannah Greek Fest 2012

Savannah is Yelling “Opa” for the 61st Year!

With 61 years of tradition and good memories to build on, this event will be better than last years.  The annual festival will feature homemade Greek foods, desserts, Greek dancing, church tours, market place, a live band and so much more during the three-day celebration of Greek food, music and heritage.  Hosted in the St. Paul’s Hellenic Center, our three-day festival attracts thousands of visitors each year. These visitors come to enjoy the food, shopping, music, dancing and atmosphere of the Greek culture

We are serving food all day!

The festival will have free admission until 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday with a requested $2 donation after 4 p.m. There is also a requested $2 donation all day Saturday.

Picnic in the Park

The 2012 Annual Picnic in the Park is coming up soon! 
Presented by City of Savannah & Parker's

Every year the theme is anticipated and looked forward to by on-lookers, park-walkers, and annual event-goers.This beloved Savannah tradition, Picnic in the Park, will take place in Forsyth Park on Sunday, October 7th, 2012. As always, the event will feature an evening of live music right in the park for FREE! Entertainment this year provided by Abeni Cultural Arts Performing Group, Spit Fire Entertainment, Angela Beasley's Puppet People featuring Madeline Walker Coastal Ballet, Oglethorpe Charter School Singing Titans and Eddie Wilson & The Strings of the South.

This year’s picnic theme contest winner is "Some Enchanted Evening." 

The ever popular picnic and pet costume contest will be based on this theme. The Picnic in the Park theme will be branded as a whimsical fairytale. For those who wish to celebrate their favorite fairytales of all time, here are some examples that may be incorporated into either the picnic or the costume competitions: Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Princess and the Frog, Mulan, Shrek, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and many more! Savannah Board of Realtors will host this year's Picnic Contest. The winner(s) will be eligible to win an array of prizes, as well as bragging rights as Savannah’s best picnicker!
