Savannah Ranks High in Getaways

Savannah has crossed another accolade off its bucket list.
U.S. News and World Report, the benchmark publication for business and leisure travel, on Wednesday coronated The Hostess City one of its 12 Best Fall Getaways worldwide.
"Beautiful architecture, amazing comfort food and a distinct sense of Southern hospitality are Savannah's major draws," the report said. "But you can enjoy the fall-time jazz and film festivals if you plan a trip for this season. You'll also find a few vacancies in the city's romantic bed and breakfasts and historical inns."
Savannah ranked No. 9 on the list, but reader feedback in favor of whether it belonged there beat every other city by an almost two-to-one margin. Paris took first place.
