The Sidewalk Arts Festival annually draws thousands of visitors to view temporary chalk masterpieces created by SCAD students, alumni and prospective students on the sidewalk canvases of Savannah’s largest historic downtown park. SCAD students and alumni represent a variety of the university’s majors, from fashion to film and television. The prospective student competition is open to high school juniors and seniors.
The festival will be preceded by Films in Forsyth, featuring the family friendly films “The Goonies” at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 26, and “How to Train Your Dragon” at 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, on the big screen at Forsyth Park’s band shell. All events are free and open to the public.
