Take a step back in time and witness one of Georgia’s barrier islands the way life use to be! We’ll depart the marina at 9 a.m., and you’ll get to see and experience the marshes of coastal Georgia. There is plenty of wildlife and points of interest in our 30-minute boat ride to Ossabaw Island, where you’ll first learn a little about the Ossabaw Island Foundation. You will then be led on a three hour field trip of the northern section of the island, where you’ll witness history right before your eyes!
You’ll see the North Island Plantation site, the longest unpaved road in the state of Georgia, and see the archaeological significance of the old tabby slave cabins, which has received a good deal of national attention the past few years.
Savannah Music Festival
DATES: March 22 - April 7 2012
My favorite thing about the Savannah Music Festival is how every year I'm turned on to an artist I'd never heard of before, one who simply blows my socks off and converts me into a major "I'm so going to download their music as soon as I get home" fan for life.
