Paula Deen Recipe

Make Paula Deen's Finest Thanksgiving Baked Apples!
Forsyth Park Inn guests will be feasting their eyes on these sugary, baked fruits Thanksgiving morning.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 6 same-size Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, cut into 6 pieces
  • 1 c. Apple Juice
  • 6 sprigs of fresh Mint
Preheat Oven to 325 degrees. Combine first three ingredients, set aside. Core Apples, be sure to NOT cut bottoms out, so that apple juices will remain. Remove peel from 1/2 inch around top of apples. Fill each apple with the cinnamon mixture. Top each apple with a piece of butter.
Place apples in casserole dish, pour apple juice around them. Cover dish with foil.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from heat, garnish with mint sprig, and serve 'em up warm....
