President Obama Seen on Savannah Streets!

On March 2, 2010 President Obama made his way down Whitaker Street, the very street our veranda overlooks!

President Obama was in Savannah visiting and touring Savannah Technical College for only a few hours, but many caught a glimpse of him during his short stay!

The President then surprised diners at Savannah's favorite Mrs.Wilkes Southern Restaurant, just a few blocks north of the inn. The word is Obama piled his plate high with southern classics, especially fried chicken!

After his lunch and just before 2pm, President Obama made his way down Whitaker Street back to the South Side of Savannah. The Innkeeper and staff all lined the veranda with waving hands and cheerful smiles! It was a great and exciting day for Savannah!

Sadie Mae Catching Up On Some Morning zzzzz...

Two of our favorite guests from Birmingham, Alabama visited us this past weekend for their Valentine's Day Celebration! While they were here they captured a classic shot of our house kitty, Sadie Mae. She was nestled next to fragrant flowers during breakfast time. The fireplace was gleaming and the morning sun was dripping into the parlor, she was so relaxed and happy. Our guests sent this picture to us when they arrived back to their home, and we are all so thankful to have it.

It was just the stunning bride with her groom and Reverend Schulte, in our courtyard garden. The sun came peeking through the trees and Spanish Moss just for these two love birds. Each flower in our garden seemed so vibrant from the early morning rain. The bride held her bouquet, the groom held back tears, and Reverend Schulte delivered a beautiful ceremony. After the vows were said and couple took their many pictures, they paused to enjoy wedding cake and chilled champagne in our parlor. Music danced in the background, and the couple truly enjoyed themselves.
